Base is a crowdsourced digital platform that provides dynamic city maps highlighting crime prone areas in real time. Access to safety data empowers citizens and businesses to make informed decisions and incentivizes goverment to take action. Agenda28 was in charge of naming, branding and the app design.

RESULT

Base refers to the reliable source of information that is guiding you through the city. Its similar meaning and easy pronunciation in different languages allows users to identify the app in different contexts. The design research made it clear that safety in crime prone areas is a sensitive matter for residents. The design required to present information in a way that conveyed relevance without alarming the user. The look and feel communicated how technology can help you navigate the built environment while contributing to the improvement of your city. Base will launch during 2017 in Mexico City.
