Emergency Kit

Facilitating emergency preparedeness

ABOUT

In September 2017, a strong earthquake in Mexico left thousands of homes damaged or destroyed and at least 361 people died. After experiencing the earthquake firsthand, Agenda28 decided to design an emergency kit for anybody who wishes to be in the know about the natural risks prone in their areas. The solution should provide the right knowledge and procedure of how to react before, during, and after a disaster. At the highest level, its goal is to save lives.

RESULT

Our initial efforts have focused on New York City residents, having also experienced the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. The emergency toolkit includes a go-bag that is currently in the prototype phase, along with a card game. This deck can be played with friends and family to prepare for emergencies, learn how to react to adversities, and get familiar with basic survival skills tailored for New York City. Knowledge is resilience. Playing is the best way to learn.

The emergency kit game is the winner of the American Graphic Design Awards 2019.
